The People Behind Cardean Andrew M. Rosenfield UNext Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer Andy Rosenfield is an economist, lawyer, and educator who has long been associated with higher education. He is senior lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School. He was the founder, president and is now chairman of Lexecon Inc., one of the country's premier economic consulting firms. Mr. Rosenfield was educated at Kenyon College, Harvard University, the University of Chicago, and the University of Chicago Law School. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Chicago, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and vice-chairman of the Art Institute of Chicago. Geoffrey M. Cox Cardean University President / UNext Vice President for Academic Affairs Geoff Cox joined UNext in July 2000 as provost of Cardean University and UNext vice president of academic affairs and continuing education. He was named to his current position in March 2001. Mr. Cox served as vice-provost and dean for institutional planning at Stanford University from 1992 until joining UNext. Previously, he held various positions at the University of Chicago, including associate provost, university budget director, and head of the Center for Continuing Studies. He has a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Chicago and has taught at Chicago and Stanford. He is a member of the accrediting commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and is on the board of the Cisco Learning Institute. Edwin Eisendrath Vice President of Administration and Operations Before joining UNext in December 1997, Edwin Eisendrath headed the six-state Midwest region of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development where he was appointed administrative receiver in charge of the federal takeover and turnaround of the 40,000-unit Chicago Housing Authority. Previously, he taught in the Chicago Public Schools and served two terms as an alderman on the Chicago City Council. Mr. Eisendrath was educated at Harvard University. Samuel C. Wood Dean of Business and Management Sam Wood was on the faculty of the Stanford University Graduate School of Business from 1992 until he joined UNext in July 2000. While at Stanford, his teaching and research topics included operations management, technology, and the education and training industry. In July 1999, he founded Responsive Learning Technologies (RLT), which has delivered web-based course supplements to over 2,500 students at major universities. Dr. Wood was educated at the University of Pennsylvania and Stanford University. |
