About Cardean
A New Beginning in Education

In 1997, a group of educators formed an education company now called UNext. They wanted to leverage the power of the Internet to democratize education, making high quality education readily available to anyone.

UNext established Cardean University in 1999 to provide world-class business education to working professionals around the world. Cardean attracted a group of innovative educators, including several Nobel laureates, Internet specialists, and cognitive scientists all interested in changing the face of education.

Although Cardean has a short history, it has reached some impressive milestones:

• Thousands of students have taken Cardean courses.
• Cardean was accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (www.detc.org). The DETC is a national accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (www.chea.org).
• Leading companies such as General Motors, Royal Dutch Shell, Barclays Bank, and AOL Time Warner offer Cardean courses, including the M.B.A. program, to their employees as part of their training and education programs.
